Our Story
In 2019 Matt and Joel, both worship pastors in southeastern Virginia at the time, became friends with a common passion for writing congregational worship music that blends contemporary style with theological depth. That same year they released their first album Gracious Father, which was a collection of Matt’s old songs and one new song written by them both. In 2020, amid Covid and social distancing, Matt and Joel recorded and released their sophomore album Kingdom Of Your Son, a concept album based off of the book of Colossians. They were able to collaborate more and co-write many more songs together. Their most popular songs to-date have come from this project. In 2021 they released their 3rd album, This Is Not The End. Based off the book of Romans, Matt and Joel were the most ambitious, creative, and collaborative they’ve ever been. However, by releasing 13 songs with only a few months between tracking, producing, a car accident, and navigating long distance, they were both very taxed. In 2022, now long distance, Matt and Joel released two singles, Now and Not Yet and Where No Thief Can Find, released in the fall. In 2023, Matt and Joel released their first Christmas project! It’s new and fresh, while also remaining true to Matt’s piano driven roots and Joel’s creative and exuberant style.
